Monday, 3 February 2014 @ 09:04A place called home - Our upcoming BTO home
Now that we are a few weeks away from the invitation date, I've been logging-in into HDB website and check out the availability status like. Alhamdulilah, so far the block and unit that we are looking at semua masih available, which hopefully it stays as it is till our selection date. Amin.
So biasa lah - I memang excited/kiasu, oh well, korang nanti dah ade rumah or apply for one, you mesti paham what I mean. You tend to check out a lot of things, including a site visit - padahal you know that place baru aje nak start korek-korek.
These are some of the 3D model available at the showroom. The painting a little bit tak cantik lah - not my kind of colour but takpe lah, every 5 years, ade orang will re-paint the whole flat mah~
My main priority when it comes to buying a flat boils down to 3 factors:
1) Is it accessible to my family members? Senang carik ke tak?
2) Is it near a shop or any amenities?
3) Will there be any school in time to come for my child, insyallah.
According to my survey, it's about 10 minutes walk to Khatib MRT station which means it's not that far. There's a bus stop right infront of the block with feder bus service - which i forsee myself NOT taking if i had to squeeze myself in between, especially during the peak period. I rather walk and burn fats, Chey! macam paham. Ade chance laki yang kena hantar. Oh sayaaaaaaannng~
Besides these 3D models, I'm kinda excited when i see the Non-optional Components that was offered. The colour macam cantik gitu - kinda suit the theme that fiance and I are going for. Macam tau aje HDB ni.
and the optional components that was offered - errrmm, okay lah not bad jugak lah the colour.
I've yet to do calculation which fiance on the payment breakdown. Eversince we're engaged, our weekends are spent by talking about the wedding preparation and the BTO house appointment. The Dos and Dont's.
Debating whether I should be working after getting pregnant, insyallah. Ikut kan hati sape nak keje oi, tapi kalau tak keje, macam mane nak bayar rumah kan?
So BTB yang dah apply rumah, how is your preparation like? Ade anyone of you also applying in Yishun?
Our plan after the wedding is that we will be leaving with my parents for about a year or so before we move out to our own place. My parents, as usual, lagi lah suke since he is around. My currently bedroom will prolly be the size of my masterbed room in my own home. I will kinda get use to the idea that somehow, someday I will have to leave this spacious house of mine and live in a tiny winy pigeon-hole like flats. As simple as my current house (belongs to the parents lah kan) square feet is bigger than the 3 Generation flat that the government tgh sebok popularkan. Seriously? But on the other hand, I'm thankful that insyallah someday I will have a roof over my head, my own. Till then. Sunday, 19 January 2014 @ 17:30Wedding Fever: And so we've settled our bridal and catering
Be prepared for a very long and detailed post on this two company:
Let's start off with the big big one - Catering. My big day (insyallah) - will be a one day event thing. My fiance and I will be having our majlis together because we do not want to overspend and I think it's better coz' his friends are my friends too and my friends are his friends too. So why nak buat lain-lain kan? The event will be on a Saturday - Why Saturday, because we want that one day gap to rest well and prolly who knows we might fly off for our honeymoon the next day (still considering that, thou) We took the exclusive package which is $25,600 for 1600 pax. Lek lek, takmo terkejot. Let me do a proper breakdown for you. You see if you were to take for 1000 pax they will charge you at $20.00 per head. But if you were to take for 1600 pax it will be $16.00 per head. Do you math! You'll save a lot of money - Keep in mind that this is a combined wedding thus the chances are people will be flooding your wedding and food will run out pretty fast. It's rather a be safe than sorry kind of situation. In this exclusive package you will get the following menu:
They throw in lots of free gifts too!
worth it right?! You know why i say worth it - tentage and gazebo is given FOC. Do you know that a small tentage can cost SGD1,500 per day? Kad jemputan is FREE too! Berkat is FREE too! Calculate how much will you be saving from travelling to JB and chances are being caught by customs officer coz' not declaring goods. You'll be charged GST - in Singapore dollars lagi!
Desserts that they will give you in this exclusive package:
So this is how the dessert station will look like roughly:
Fruit station will also be included
Drink station (this is my favourite!)
Breakfast Menu (Saturday Morning)
Friday Night Menu - so friends who can't make it on saturday can come on the night before!
Wedding Decoration
Catering Logistic
Kitchen Logistic
ALL THIS FOR $25,600 ONLY!
Next up is the bridal - Grandeur Fai by G5 Events Pte Ltd
This is prolly the coolest thing ever - They provide you a wedding planner once you sign up. A deposit is required to block off the dates and they are very flexible in terms of payment when you wanna do installment plan basis. You can easily transfer the cash to the company account and staple the receipt to your wedding planner (they have a page where you can do that). In the wedding planner there's terms and condition that you need to read through and sign.
A few pages later they have this page where you can plan your event out properly. you breakdown - the fitting dates etc etc! Best part about Grandeur Fai is you are given to do fitting 7 times! 7 times! Last fitting is a month before you wedding and after that no more changing. No extra charges for new collection - how awesome is that!!
How i wish i can post a photo of the planner (inside) - but i understand that only G5 have this wedding planner thingy and takut-takut later other bridal copy lah plak.
Anyway the package that I took is 'Queen'. In this package they offer the following things:
Since Grandeur Fai prices varies in terms of the promotion that they are offering - Do check with them the current rates etc. Do come down during their Expo exhibition or Private in house exhibition to get $500 off your bridal packages.
For the package above and after discounts -
$2418 ONLY!!!
So basically i'm left with my photographer and wedding photo booth which i will update next week.
With detailed breakdown and the total cost of my wedding.
Dear brides-to-be - it is very important that you start booking early because it will make you be very discipline in your savings and grab the best deals. Biar kiasu, janji we don't screw up our big day.

Sunday, 29 September 2013 @ 13:22The Engagement
First and foremost I would like to thank everyone who came to my mini-big day. It wasn't suppose to be a big event but syukur alhamdulilah the turn out was good. The food was good - 'coz the head chef was my grandmother and my mother. It was held at my place and I understand that many came but didn't managed to get inside to take photo with me because of the crowd. Tak tau lah plak my family is like super big. Nak cakap jalan card, card pon tak bikin. hehe. After 8 years of dating, we finally decide that we are ready. I don't deny - we had too many ups and downs while being together (yes, ade breakup in between) but alhamdulilah jodoh takkan ke mana. The engagement preparation is more of a DIY thingy. Food was prepared by the two awesome cook mentioned earlier, the gubahan was done by my brother-in-law's mother. We didn't buy any dulang or kain - we basically re-use whatever my first sister's wedding theme colour to our engagement theme colour! The berkat was bought in Johor that one only cannot recycle. haha.. The engagement dress, yes I feeling very princess when I tried it on, was purchased from lulu-alhadad. Let me tell you more about this beautiful clothing. Many actually asked me where did I purchased this Royal yellow sequin dress - yes now that you've known - It's from LuluAlhadad evening dress collection. It was love at the first sight! When i saw Norfasarie wearing this dress in tiffany blue, I had jitter in my belly. It was too beautiful to resist. Fiance was very kind-hearted (after lots of pleading) he agreed to pay for the dress! Initially the dress was sleeveless and of course it wasn't appropriate according to our customary. I did a little tweaking, walked around Arab Street and found the perfect colour! Right after that this beautiful dress was sent for tailoring (mini-makeover) and added in the sleeve! Even norfasarie was in love with the colour. But i love the tiffany blue that she wore, better. But never the less this Royal Yellow looks beautiful too! My makeup artist was pippin emerald. I bet many of you would have already hear of her name somewhere. A woman who's crazy good in makeup. Her details on things are crazy. You can find her on facebook too! This is her newly created page - or you can simply type in her name Pippin Emerald and walaaahh! you'll be able to find her. I told Pippin specifically that i do not want anything harsh. I want it to look as natural as possible. I don't want to look as though i'm putting on 10kg of makeup on my face because I want to look different on my wedding day. Seriously, nanti kalau your makeup on your wedding day and tunang same as in very tebal - people won't see the difference at all.Kan defeats the whole purpose of makeup! The photographer was a good buddy of mine - a person whom i got to know along this journey. Thanks to my wonderful friend, Julia, who introduced me to him. Me being me told Amino(the photographer name), that i wanted something simple and don't edit too much. I want the whole feel of it to be there.Honestly, I felt he did a great job in fulfilling my wants. You can find Phat's Gallery Inc in facebook!Did i mention that their price is extremely affordable and he throw in lots of free goodies for you too! Here are some of pippin's and Phat's gallery work on my mini big day My engagement cake was baked by the one and only BatterMischief. Batter Mischief is a fresh and trendy one-stop bakery in your neighbourhood. Kak June was very nice and she listens to you. She macam kire you cakap lah macam mane you nak, nanti she will design it for you. Talented kan, so jealous! You can find Batter Mischief on facebook. This is my engagement cake. Fiance and I order from her because fiance was sold was she designed the cupcake with his bike logo on it. As for me, the oozing chocolate and the kit-kat sealed it. It was a chocolate heaven if there's any. Why same design and flavour - So that kite dua tak berebot. Pandai kan (: I had a wonderful day and managed to catch up with my long lost friends who came down for the engagement. If you were to ask me on the amount that I spend for my engagement - i think it's below 2K. Banyak DIY and being sponsored by my siblings and cousins. I cut cost like a lot! The only expensive things on our tray (we exchanged 7 tray) - was my birthday present DKNY handbang and wallet, Oakley Valentino Rossi Limited Edition Shades, his riding shoe - which I don't like the design at all, but Fiance love it so much and the Engagement ring from Citigem. So ya - Till then!
